Camping 

 

Die Aare führt in diesem Juli Hochwasser. Ihr Gletschergrün ist einem Graugrün gewichen. Ein Biber schwimmt mit dem Blick zum Stägmatt-Steg Richtung Böschung, ohne dabei die Wasseroberfläche zu bewegen. Sanft gleiten die, von seinem dichten Pelz abperlenden, Wassertropfen zu Boden, während er in Ufernäher den jungen Trieb einer Esche durchnagt. Zurück im seichten Wasser lässt er sich auf dem Rücken treiben, den Zweig geschickt in seinen feingliedrigen Vorderpfoten drehend, und dabei pedantisch das sattgrüne Laub abknabbernd.

In July of this year, the Aare came close to flooding, its glacier-green hue giving way to grey-green. With its gaze on the Stägmatt-Steg bridge, a beaver swims towards the banks, without disturbing the water surface. Drops of water softly drip off its thick fur and to the ground as he gnaws through the young shoots of an ash on the nearshore. Back in the shallow water, he allows himself to be propelled on his back, skilfully turning the twig between his slender front paws and meticulously nibbling off the deep green leaves.
